Ukraine expects the European Parliament Support in Essential Issues of the Dialogue "Ukraine-European Union", - V. Lytvyn.
It was declared by Volodymyr Lytvyn, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine during the Thirteenth Sitting of the Committee on Parliamentary Cooperation between Ukraine and European Union which was held in Kyiv on Monday.
"We highly appreciate the support of European Parliament in leading issues concerning relations between Ukraine and European Union and we sincerely hope that the majority of representatives of united Europe in European Parliament possess positive attitude towards the Ukrainian place in European society", - V. Lytvyn proclaimed.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada expressed hope that new team of European Parliament "would continue the tradition of maximum assistance for Ukraine in dialogue with European Union."
"Ukraine expects the European Parliament Support in Essential Issues of the Dialogue "Ukraine-European Union." I am convinced that our mutual cooperation assists us receive results that would be extremely important for Ukraine", - he stressed.
European community assistance for Ukraine "is essential more then ever as we faced the crucial moment in our history due to the elections of the President of Ukraine." Ukrainian people must give answer on the questions whether Ukraine would go further transferring into the new quality as democratic civilized country or would step back.
V. Lytvyn emphasized that "we expect practical result of the cooperation not after but before the lections" in Ukraine. "Future President is supposed to already have the plan of practical actions. This plan of actions actually would harmonize with the moods of the Ukrainian society", - he added.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine specified the principal issues on the cooperation of Ukraine with EU that needs the solution.
According to him today the negotiation between Ukraine and EU should be transferred into the new dimension.
"It is extremely important to do it nowadays due to the necessity to reduce the manoeuvres field for the Ukrainian politicians during the presidential campaign, it is extremely important for the Ukrainian society. We are satisfied with the active dialogue in the sphere of practical cooperation and especially by the fact that we managed to complete the preparation for the new practical document of the association agenda. It gives us opportunity and juridical grounds for the new steps forward Treaty on Association concluding", - V. Lytvyn declared.
The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine deems the provision of the effective dialogue with EU regarding the visa-free regime principal as "it is sensitive topic for the total majority of Ukrainian citizens." He reminded that according to the resolution of the Paris summit in September 2008, Ukraine and EU started consultations on perspectives of implementation of the visa-free-regime. Development of this dialogue would depend on implementation by Ukraine of the relevant criteria and EU demands in the sphere of Schengen legislation. "We expect from EU exact political sign regarding the intensification of the mutual work on the elaboration of the conceptual document regarding this problem", - he stated.
V. Lytvyn also stressed the necessity of the formation of "strengthening and all-embracing zone of the free trade" between Ukraine and EU. "It is important for us due to the necessity of the adjusting of Ukrainian business to the high European standards."
V. Lytvyn also dwelled on the issue of cooperation in the energy sphere declaring that Ukraine is predictable regarding this matter. "We appreciate the necessity of the treaty on energy cooperation and implementation of the recommendations, - he stressed. We are interested in the fact that Ukrainian gas transferring system work efficiently not only in Ukrainian interest but in interest of the final gas consumers as well, that is European community."
"It is obvious that we would receive the real mechanism of the cooperation and at the same time it is essential for us to have predictable relations with Russia, - V. Lytvyn stressed. In dialogue with Russia we must use pricing of equality and to receive it we must have the consolidated position of Ukrainian politicians."
